## Description

The SCAD Museum of Art, since its opening in 2011, has become known for its breathtaking architecture, thought-provoking exhibitions, and dedication to community engagement and education. This premier contemporary art museum showcases both emerging and established international artists through commissioned works and rotating exhibitions. It also offers a range of programs and initiatives that serve as a valuable resource for SCAD students and alumni throughout their academic careers and beyond. The museum boasts various galleries, a Tad café, a terrace, 10 classrooms, and a 250-seat theater. It serves as a center for cultural dialogue, engaging students through interdisciplinary educational experiences. The SCAD Museum of Art has presented exhibitions by renowned artists and features a permanent collection that includes the Walter O. Evans Collection of African American Art, the Modern and Contemporary Art Collection, and more. Housed in a historic 1853 brick structure that was once a railway depot, the museum seamlessly blends the old with the new, creating a captivating architectural masterpiece. Its expansion added 65,000 square feet to the facility, providing even more space to showcase engaging exhibitions and installations. Recognized for its innovative design, the SCAD Museum of Art is a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts from around the world.
