## Description

ScanMed RFC, the Scandinavian-Mediterranean Rail Freight Corridor, is a cooperation between infrastructure managers that supports rail freight along what it describes as Europe’s longest Rail Freight Corridor. Its “From North to South – Easily!” vision reflects the corridor’s role in connecting routes across the Scandinavian-Mediterranean axis and helping rail freight operators plan and access capacity.

The organization provides information and services related to corridor capacity, including pre-arranged paths, reserve capacity and a terminal integrated capacity offer. Its website explains the sales process and how to apply, and provides information about temporary capacity restrictions, infrastructure and interoperability, and train performance management. ScanMed RFC also supports operational and regional capacity management through working groups and initiatives, including the Brenner Axis Task Force and the Femern Belt Platform.

The corridor’s work is carried out with partners and guided through its organizational bodies, including an executive board and advisory groups. ScanMed RFC publishes documents such as annual reports and capacity offers, and shares news, events, performance assessments and other resources for stakeholders in European rail freight.
