## Description

The San Carlos Apache Tribe Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of the San Carlos Apache community. Founded on a mission to promote health and educational initiatives, the DHHS operates 16 diverse programs aimed at improving the quality of life for tribal members. These include Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Public Health Nursing, Maternal Child Health (MCH), and the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, among others.

Led by Executive Director David Reede and Deputy Director Dr. Natsai Chidavaenzi, both of whom have extensive backgrounds in healthcare and community management, the DHHS emphasizes culturally relevant and high-quality services. The Tribe’s vision centers on self-sufficiency and holistic well-being, addressing physical, emotional, and social health. Through initiatives like the Older Adult Center and wellness programs, the DHHS strives to foster health education and community pride, ensuring a healthier future for the San Carlos Apache Tribe.
