The School of Sewing and Upcycling is dedicated to teaching sewing skills that will last a lifetime. Established in 2015, we started in a small shop in Buckley Street, Footscray, and quickly gained a reputation for our love of sewing and dedication to our students. In 2019, we moved to our current location on the border of Footscray and Yarraville, where we have a spacious and inviting sewing space. At SOSU, we believe that sewing is not only a practical skill but also a creative form of self-expression. Whether you're interested in altering and mending your existing wardrobe or creating your own stunning garments, we have a wide range of workshops and courses to suit every skill level. From full and half-day workshops to ongoing courses, we are dedicated to building, refreshing, and consolidating your sewing skills. Our school caters to sewers of all ages and experience levels. Whether you're a complete beginner or an advanced sewist, our expert teachers will guide you through the language of patterns and teach you essential sewing techniques. Additionally, we offer private lessons for those who prefer one-on-one instruction, allowing you to dive deep into your special project.
