## Description

The School of Sound is an educational platform exploring the creative use of sound across the arts and media. Through online events, short courses, research and a collection of writings, interviews and recorded talks, it encourages artists, students and media professionals to reconsider how sound shapes creative work. Its subjects span practical and aesthetic approaches, including sound design, human sound perception, non-naturalistic sound and sound as metaphor, with perspectives relevant to screen, gallery and audio production.

The School of Sound offers recordings of online talks and presentations through its website shop, alongside a broader archive of journal articles, audio and video interviews that brings together theory and practice. Its teaching section provides a forum for people who teach sound, whether as a practical discipline or a subject of study, to share their approaches. The organisation also publishes news and supports a newsletter for updates about events and resources. By connecting learning, discussion and creative practice, the School of Sound helps build awareness of sound’s artistic possibilities and its role in how audiences experience media and the arts.
