## Description

The Erika and Erwin Schreiter Stiftung is a charitable foundation based in Düsseldorf, Germany. Founded in 2009 by Stefan Schreiter and named after his parents, Erika and Erwin, it supports projects that create lasting opportunities and strengthen social development. Its work combines an emphasis on responsibility with a practical focus on sustainable impact.

The foundation’s funding priorities include education and upbringing; child and youth welfare; health and research; social responsibility and support for older people; and international development. It backs initiatives that improve access to learning, provide young people with protection and guidance, advance healthcare and research, support participation and quality of life, and strengthen education and infrastructure internationally.

Rather than prioritizing the number or visibility of grants, the foundation assesses projects for a clear need, a credible goal, reliable leadership, and the potential for lasting improvement. Its examples include a primary school in Cologne-Neubrück, HIV research, and a school project in Burkina Faso. Its first engagement was with Bärenherz, a relationship that continues today.
