## Description

Ortsfamilienbuch Brieg-Landgemeinden is a genealogy project documenting people and families from the rural communities around Brieg, including Paulau, Hermsdorf, Schreibendorf, Rathau, Briegischdorf and Schüsselndorf. The database also includes families from nearby areas when they have a connection to these communities, and follows family lines beyond the region where possible.

Created and maintained by Solveig Müller and Ralf Enno Müller, the project is a personal genealogy hobby informed by their experience contributing to other local family books. Work on entering the collected records began on 26 November 2020. As of 1 May 2021, the database listed 12,736 people, 5,505 families and 204 sources.

The website offers tools to search for people, surnames, families and places, alongside calendars, cemetery information, photographs, albums, sources, notes and family trees. Its records are still being entered, and some events lack citations, so users are advised to treat them cautiously. The project welcomes corrections and suggestions for additional sources, and publishes source references where possible.
