The celebration traces its roots to a custom dating back to medieval times, honoring a marksman who saves a child from an eagle and is crowned Schützenkönig. German immigrants brought Schützenfest to Cincinnati in 1866, making the local tradition older than the Cincinnati Reds. A central event is the annual crowning of the Schützenkönig. Participants aim at a hand-carved wooden eagle mounted high on a pole, and the marksman who shoots off the final piece earns the title. The festival also offers a lively gathering centered on German-style hospitality, with beer, wine, food, refreshments, and entertainment for the whole family. Visitors can find practical information about parking, the festival map, food and drink, and event activities through the festival’s website. With packed tents, live music, and a welcoming community atmosphere, Cincinnati Schützenfest brings people together to celebrate history and tradition while helping fund the Kolping Society’s charitable work. ## Industries - 🎗 Community and Society - 🎗 Holidays and Seasonal Events _(under Community and Society)_ ## Links - [facebook](https://facebook.com/SchutzenfestCincy) - [instagram](https://instagram.com/schutzenfestcincinnati) ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idkt1oAQ0x/w/2500/h/1132/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1792810788498) - icon _(primary)_ — JPEG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idkt1oAQ0x/w/2048/h/2048/theme/dark/icon.jpeg?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1792810789225) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Buttercup | #f6a51c | accent | | Korma | #87370f | dark | | Antique Brass | #c2926e | light | ## Fonts - optima-k0wknq — asset _(custom)_ - optima-k0wknq — asset _(custom)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
