## Description

SciaLis is an inclusive sports project based in Bielmonte, Italy, created to help people who are deaf or hard of hearing access skiing and enjoy sport without communication barriers. Launched in 2015 in collaboration with the Scuola Italiana Sci Monte Marca Bielmonte, the initiative developed sign-supported ski instruction and welcomes deaf and hearing participants to learn and ski together. Its courses accommodate different ability levels, from beginner to advanced, and have involved children and young people from Biella and beyond. SciaLis works with organizations including the Biella section of the National Deaf Association and Vedo Voci, and has also collaborated with the Italian Federation of Deaf Sport. The project promotes both skiing skills and communication, confidence, teamwork and enjoyment. It organizes inclusive snow-sport events and activities, including ski days and opportunities for participants to demonstrate their abilities. Eligible deaf participants may access free or reduced course fees, subject to availability and income documentation.
