## Description

Science Debate is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization that works to bring science policy into public and political discussion. It encourages candidates, elected officials, the public, and the media to give greater attention to scientific and technological issues that affect modern life. Its focus includes science and technology, health and medicine, and the environment, as well as the role of scientific innovation in economic growth and informed decision-making.

Through presidential and state candidate question-and-answer initiatives, Science Debate gives candidates opportunities to share their positions on these topics. In preparation for the 2022 elections, the organization partnered with the National Science Policy Network and state coalitions to develop regionally tailored questions about science, technology, and health policy priorities. Candidate responses are published online to help voters understand where candidates stand before Election Day. The organization also shares information about its history, press coverage, endorsements, partners, and mini-grant program, and invites the public to support its work through donations and participation. As a registered nonprofit, it notes that donations are tax-deductible.
