## Description

SCML International is an independent research initiative based in Oslo, Norway, advancing frontier science for future sustainable technologies. Its work focuses on soft and complex matter, earth-abundant and bio-sourced materials, sustainable physical chemistry, layered and two-dimensional materials, and photonic and quantum systems. The initiative also explores clay-based materials and gas separation.

SCML International works through three complementary pillars: research, advisory services, and education. It undertakes project-based collaborations with universities, research institutes, and large-scale facilities, connecting fundamental science with long-term sustainability perspectives. Drawing on decades of experimental, theoretical, and cross-disciplinary research, the initiative contributes scientific expertise, coordination, and international connectivity to collaborative projects.

SCML International does not maintain permanent laboratory infrastructure. Instead, experimental work is conducted through trusted partner institutions and access to national and international research facilities, following a distributed research model. Alongside its research and advisory activity, SCML International provides education and teaching. Its international collaborations and facility partnerships support work across a broad range of materials and physical science, without duplicating the laboratory capabilities of its partners.
