## Description

Scopéli is a cooperative and participative supermarket located in Nantes, France, dedicated to transforming the way consumers engage with their food sources. With a mission to promote quality and sustainable consumption, Scopéli sources over 50% of its products from the Loire Atlantique region, while 90% of their food offerings are organic, emphasizing seasonality and ethical pricing. Unlike traditional supermarkets, Scopéli allows local producers to set their prices, ensuring fair compensation and supporting community agriculture. The supermarket champions zero waste practices, encouraging customers to buy in bulk, minimize packaging, and reuse containers. With around 3,500 references available, including 309 bulk items from 207 local producers, Scopéli creates a vibrant shopping environment where community interaction flourishes. Additionally, the cooperative model allows members to actively participate in store operations, contributing to a sense of ownership and shared responsibility. By fostering a welcoming atmosphere and promoting healthy food choices, Scopéli stands out as a pioneering retail model, engaging over 2,800 dedicated cooperators in redefining grocery shopping.
