## Description

SCOSS, the Global Sustainability Coalition for Open Science Services, is a pioneering network formed in 2017 that aims to secure the long-term sustainability of Open Access (OA) and Open Science (OS) infrastructure. Through a collaborative funding model, SCOSS enables a diverse range of non-commercial services crucial to the academic and research communities to thrive and remain accessible. The coalition invites applications from these services annually, rigorously assessing them based on their community value and sustainability measures.

To date, SCOSS has successfully garnered support from over 348 institutions, pledging a total of €500,000 to various initiatives. Their funding programs include projects like African Journals Online, Research Data Alliance, and Software Heritage, each targeting critical funding goals to enhance open research capabilities. In a landscape heavily influenced by financial and geopolitical challenges, SCOSS stands as a vital advocate for open infrastructure, ensuring that the services foundational to research and academic endeavors retain community ownership and expert direction. Join SCOSS in fostering a sustainable open science ecosystem for future generations.
