## Description

The Scottish Genealogy Society, based in Edinburgh, is dedicated to exploring and preserving Scotland's rich genealogical heritage. A hub for enthusiasts, the Society offers a variety of resources including a comprehensive library, family history shops, and access to vital genealogical databases. Members benefit from free lectures and discussions, such as the engaging talk by Margaret Fox on The Servants in Traquair House, which delves into historical archives and the lives of domestic staff. In addition to educational events, the Society fosters a community spirit through informal gatherings over tea and biscuits, allowing both members and non-members to connect and discuss shared interests. For those interested in enhancing their genealogical research, the Society's resources include the Black Book Library and the well-regarded publication The Scottish Genealogist. Whether you’re an experienced genealogist or just starting your journey, the Scottish Genealogy Society is your gateway to uncovering Scotland’s ancestral stories. Join the Society to deepen your connection with Scotland’s past.
