## Description

Scott C. Harris, PhD, is a computational neuroscientist, programmer, and inventor whose work brings together neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and practical software. His portfolio showcases research, tools, writing, and interactive projects focused on understanding the brain and developing new ways to study and support human health. As Co-Founder and CTO of Certain Technologies, Harris is building proprietary software to augment the detection and resolution of neurodevelopmental disorders.

His work includes leading a multi-behavior brain emulation using the Drosophila connectome, spiking neural networks, reinforcement learning, and embodied simulation. He also invented a noninvasive diagnostic tool for early detection of neurodegenerative diseases through reflexive eye movements, in partnership with UCSF. His software offerings include Bassoon, a no-code platform for precise psychophysics experiments, and tools for retinal electrophysiology and light calibration. The portfolio also features Jelly Psych AI, interactive science projects, and essays on consciousness and free will. Harris received the 2024 David and Joyce Copenhagen Prize for Best Research in Vision Science at UCSF.
