## Description

Spoločnosť dialyzovaných a transplantovaných (SDaT) is a voluntary patient organization in Slovakia that brings together people receiving dialysis, organ transplant recipients, those awaiting treatment, and their family members. Its purpose is to improve patients’ quality of life by offering mutual support, practical information, and a welcoming community where people can share experiences. Guided by empathy, cooperation, and the belief that illness need not prevent a dignified, active life, SDaT draws on the firsthand knowledge of patients and their families.

The organization provides educational resources on kidney function and disease, diagnosis, related health conditions, dialysis, transplantation, and living with illness. Topics include travel while on dialysis, follow-up examinations, nutrition, and leisure. SDaT also organizes meetings, restorative stays, trips, and sports activities adapted to participants’ health needs. Its support extends to families, helping them better understand the experiences and challenges of patients. Through its community and activities, SDaT encourages connection, shared learning, and practical support for people navigating kidney disease and treatment.
