## Description

The SD Association is a global brand dedicated to establishing and promoting SD standards for memory cards. Founded in 2000 by Panasonic, SanDisk, and Toshiba (now KIOXIA), the association has grown into a formidable alliance of around 800 member companies. By developing and adopting SD standards, the association ensures better compatibility of memory cards between devices, greatly enhancing consumer enjoyment and convenience. For consumers, the SD Association offers a range of SD memory card choices, including SD, SDHC, SDXC, and SDUC, with different capacities and bus interface speeds. They also provide standards for large size data transfer, video recording, application performance, low voltage signaling, and copyright protection for digital data. Additionally, the association offers usage tip videos and an extensive FAQ section to assist consumers with their SD card needs. Developers can benefit from the SD Association's comprehensive SD standards for memory capacity, bus speed, security features, speed class, application performance class, content protection, host controllers, wireless LAN, and more. The association also offers a verification program for SD Express and UHS-II products. Membership in the SD Association provides access to up-to-date information on SD standards, enabling members to develop interoperable products and solutions. With SD standards being widely used across various industries, including digital cameras, mobile phones, computers, and automobiles, the SD Association plays a crucial role in simplifying and enhancing the use of memory cards for millions of people worldwide.
