SAARC Development Fund (SDF) is a financial institution that serves as an umbrella organization for projects and programs in fulfillment of the SAARC Charter. Established in April 2010 by the heads of the eight SAARC Member States, SDF aims to improve the welfare, quality of life, and economic growth of the people in the SAARC region, while also accelerating social progress and poverty alleviation. SDF offers funding across three key windows: the Economic Window, which funds non-infrastructural projects; the Infrastructure Window, which supports projects in areas like energy and transportation; and the Social Window, which funds projects related to poverty alleviation and social development.

With projects approved in all SAARC Member States, SDF is implementing over 95 projects that have a direct impact on the lives of millions of people in the region, which is home to a quarter of the world's population. By promoting regional integration and collaboration, SDF is playing a vital role in driving sustainable development and improving the wellbeing of communities in the SAARC region
