## Description

The San Diego-Imperial Council of Scouting America serves young people and families across San Diego and Imperial Counties, California, and has supported the region since 1916. Its mission is to encourage fun and adventure while fostering strong values, citizenship, service, leadership, and community involvement. The council offers programs for children and youth at different stages, including Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Sea Scouts, Venturing, Exploring, Scoutreach, the Order of the Arrow, and high-adventure activities. Programs combine outdoor experiences, skills development, mentorship, fellowship, and opportunities for youth leadership. The council also provides training, membership resources, youth-protection information, incident reporting guidance, and support for local districts and units. Camping is a central part of its offerings, with seasonal day and resident camps, year-round camping, and facilities at Camp Balboa, Camp Bashor, Mataguay Scout Ranch, and the San Diego Youth Aquatic Center. These sites support activities ranging from traditional camping to sailing and other water sports. Facility rentals and a Scout shop are also available.
