## Description

South Dakota News Watch is an independent nonprofit organization founded in 2017 with a mission to inform, enlighten, and illuminate the most important statewide stories. They cover a wide range of topics, including agriculture, education, public safety, and politics. Funded by private donations and foundations, South Dakota News Watch is supported by several media organizations, allowing for a broader distribution of their content. Their team of journalists is dedicated to investigating important subjects, untangling complicated issues, and telling stories that often go untold, making sense of our complex world. What sets South Dakota News Watch apart is their focus on the big picture. While local media covers daily news events, their aim is to provide a deeper understanding and engagement for the residents of South Dakota. By distributing all their content for free, they encourage public involvement and collaboration, seeking feedback and ideas on how to effect change. South Dakota News Watch is funded through contributions from individuals who believe in the organization's commitment to truth, democracy, and civic engagement. To support their public service journalism, individuals can make contributions online or by sending a check. The organization has adopted donor transparency and editorial independence policies to avoid conflicts of interest, ensuring that contributors have no influence over the investigations undertaken by their reporters. South Dakota News Watch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, making donations tax-deductible. By supporting South Dakota News Watch, you are investing in high-quality investigative journalism that helps create a better and stronger state.
