## Description

The Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) is a groundbreaking astronomical initiative dedicated to mapping the Universe in unprecedented detail. Since its inception in 2000, the SDSS has produced comprehensive three-dimensional maps and deep multi-color images covering one-third of the sky, as well as spectra for over three million celestial objects. The current phase, Data Release 17 (DR17), marks the completion of SDSS-IV, offering extensive data for researchers and enthusiasts alike.

Engaging in a myriad of surveys such as APOGEE-2, eBOSS, and MaNGA, SDSS provides invaluable insights into the Milky Way, galaxy formation, and cosmic structures. With the anticipated commencement of SDSS-V, featuring innovative projects like the Milky Way Mapper and Black Hole Mapper, the survey continues to push boundaries in modern astronomy.

Moreover, SDSS is committed to education and public outreach, facilitating access to scientific data and resources that inspire emerging astronomers and researchers. Explore the wonders of the Universe through SDSS's rich legacy and ongoing discoveries.
