## Description

The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center, Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD), plays a pivotal role in promoting sustainable fisheries practices and enhancing regional cooperation among Southeast Asian nations. Focused on tackling illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, SEAFDEC/TD engages in various initiatives to strengthen fisheries management and improve fishers' livelihoods. Their comprehensive array of services includes the development and dissemination of sustainable fishing technologies, marine research, and capacity building projects across the region.

SEAFDEC/TD also spearheads workshops and training programs designed to foster regional governance and integrate advanced technologies into fisheries practices. They emphasize the importance of small-scale fisheries management and the promotion of the blue economy, particularly in areas like the Gulf of Thailand and the Bay of Bengal. By collaborating with local communities and international partners, SEAFDEC/TD aims to enhance fisheries governance and ensure the sustainable use of marine resources for the benefit of coastal states and communities in Southeast Asia.
