## Description

SeaKing Solace is a research initiative investigating whether externally applied, rhythmic, multi-axis motion can produce measurable human physiological responses. Inspired by an observation during a boat trip in 2021, the organization aims to test the underlying question scientifically without assuming that motion has a beneficial effect. Its work focuses on characterizing vessel movement and examining how it relates to autonomic and vestibular measures.

SeaKing Solace is developing a phased research program with Thomas Jefferson University. The planned Phase 1 study would use a sailing catamaran as a mobile research platform to collect synchronized motion and physiological data from healthy adults. Measurements are intended to include cardiovascular activity, respiration, eye and pupil responses, and electrodermal activity. The program has a philanthropic funding goal of $4.79 million to support research operations, equipment, infrastructure, and institutional research activities.

Future stages may include laboratory simulator validation, feasibility research in selected populations, and development of an adaptive motion platform, subject to evidence, funding, and appropriate review.
