## Description

SeamlessAccess.org is a brand that offers a service aimed at enhancing the online access experience for scholarly collaboration tools, information resources, and shared research infrastructure. The service promotes digital authentication by leveraging an existing single-sign-on infrastructure through an individual's home institution, ensuring the protection of personal data and privacy. The initiative for this service originated from the RA21 Initiative, a collaboration between the International Association of STM Publishers and the National Information Standards Organization. SeamlessAccess follows a set of guiding principles, ensuring a seamless user experience that is intuitive and consistent across various systems and meets evolving expectations. It works effectively regardless of the researcher's starting point, physical location, or preferred device. The system also adheres to emerging privacy regulations, avoids the need for researchers to create new IDs, and strikes an optimal balance between security and usability. SeamlessAccess eliminates the need for users to repeatedly enter their credentials by enabling true sign-on across all SeamlessAccess-enabled sites. This not only streamlines the process but also eliminates administrative burdens and expenses for customers. Overall, SeamlessAccess provides a unified and efficient solution for federated identity authentication and authorization workflows across different institutions and parties involved in research collaborations.
