Chef Sean Sherman, who was born and raised on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, founded the brand with the mission to reclaim and celebrate the traditional cooking methods and ingredients of Native American ancestors. After realizing the lack of Native American restaurants throughout most of North America, Chef Sherman embarked on a journey to research and rediscover the authentic food traditions of his own heritage and other dispossessed Indigenous people.
