## Description

St. Sebastianus Schützenbruderschaft Avenwedde e.V. is a community association founded in 1926 in Avenwedde, guided by the values of faith, good conduct and local belonging. Bringing together members from across the community, the Bruderschaft preserves local traditions while fostering fellowship and supporting charitable and missionary work. Its activities include the annual Schützenfest, events for young members, social gatherings and community celebrations such as Christmas markets and barn parties. The association also shares news, event information, historical records and photo galleries documenting its life over the decades.

Sport shooting is an important part of the organization. Its Schießclub St. Sebastian was established in 1956, and the association’s shooting facilities include 16 air-rifle lanes. Members have achieved success at district, diocesan and regional levels. The Bruderschaft recognizes its king and queen, junior king and queen, and beer king, and maintains a detailed chronicle of past royal representatives. It also offers its hall for rental, extending its role as a venue for local events and gatherings.
