## Description

Second Journey Farmstead is a growing micro-farm and rabbitry in southeastern Pennsylvania, built around heritage-breed preservation, self-sufficiency, and sustainable operations. The farm sells American Chinchilla, Silver Fox, and Thrianta rabbits and is committed to raising animals humanely and supporting the survival of distinctive heritage livestock and poultry breeds.

Its work also centers on growing food with deliberate care. The farmstead grows fruits, nuts, and vegetables, with an orchard in development, and focuses on meat, eggs, compost, and garden produce. It states that it avoids pesticides and herbicides in its garden and orchard, and does not use antibiotics, growth hormones, or preservatives in its livestock or meat. Animals receive a wholesome, varied diet and are handled with respect.

The name reflects the owners’ transition from Navy careers to civilian life and a broader shift toward more thoughtful food choices. Second Journey Farmstead is a lifetime member of The Livestock Conservancy and participates in rabbit-breed organizations, reflecting its commitment to responsible husbandry and heritage breeds.
