Brand Security Vision is a cutting-edge project that explores the intersection of computer vision and security. With a focus on the ethical and political implications of these technologies, this project aims to understand how computer vision impacts governmental and private sector actors, decision-making processes, and accountability. By utilizing a unique theoretical and methodological framework, Brand Security Vision investigates the development of computer vision in security and examines its effects on fundamental rights. The project combines critical security studies, science and technology studies, and visual ethnographic practices to shed light on socially embedded technical devices. Through innovative coding and visual ethnography, the project collects and analyzes data, advancing debates in International Relations and presenting research in new modalities. By studying extremist content moderation, CCTV cameras, and lie detectors, Brand Security Vision contributes to the ethical and political discourse surrounding computer vision technologies.
