## Description

SeedKeepers is an Indigenous-led organisation building seed systems and restoration infrastructure across Australia. It works with Traditional Owner groups, Indigenous organisations and ranger teams to strengthen community leadership and participation in the native seed and restoration sectors. Its support includes developing Indigenous seed enterprises, ranger seed-collection programs, community seed banks, seed production areas, nurseries and restoration businesses, as well as training, restoration planning and ecological mapping.

SeedKeepers’ approach connects native seed with biodiversity recovery, cultural knowledge, employment and long-term stewardship of Country. Community seed banks provide secure storage while supporting local seed supply, species conservation, ranger training, knowledge sharing and restoration projects. Through the SeedKeepers Academy, learners can access practical training, mentoring and a structured pathway in restoration. The organisation also offers Bush Botanics, supporting enterprise opportunities based on native plants, and Bush Maps, which help communities communicate seed zones, cultural plant species and restoration priorities. Its SPIRIT platform is being developed to manage ecological, genetic, cultural and climate information related to native seed, supporting informed and culturally governed restoration.
