## Description

SEEK Carolina is a nonprofit organization that helps young people in North and South Carolina build a lasting connection with nature. Serving learners from elementary school through high school, it offers hands-on education and outdoor experiences designed to inspire curiosity, confidence, and environmental stewardship. Activities include field trips, outdoor adventures, scientific learning, conservation efforts, and community service projects.

One of its programs, the Union County Homeschool Envirothon, brings families together in downtown Monroe several times a month. Students explore five Envirothon subjects: wildlife, aquatic resources, forestry, soil, and current environmental issues. The program uses interactive lessons, experiments, presentations, field trips, and collaborative study to deepen students’ understanding of the natural world. Elementary participation is available to siblings of enrolled middle- and high-school students, while older students can join under parent-supervised, parent-involved, or drop-off options, depending on the enrollment level.

Through its educational programs and service opportunities, SEEK Carolina encourages young people to explore local ecosystems, take part in conservation, and develop a sense of responsibility for the world around them.
