## Description

Seiikan is a Canberra-based Kendo dojo established on March 20, 1975, with a longstanding commitment to the sincere and disciplined practice of the Japanese martial art. Rooted in traditional Budo philosophy and supported by structured instruction, the dojo offers a respectful, purpose-driven setting for people to develop technical ability, mental focus and strong character. Kendo, or “The Way of the Sword,” draws on traditional samurai swordsmanship and uses training to cultivate both physical skill and mental discipline. Seiikan’s practice emphasizes shaping the mind and body, building a vigorous spirit, pursuing improvement through rigorous training, and upholding courtesy, honour and sincerity. The dojo welcomes those interested in learning Kendo and provides training alongside information about the art, its principles and its purpose. Seiikan is affiliated with the ACT Kendo Renmei, the Australian Kendo Renmei and the International Kendo Federation. Its dojo is located at RA Young Hall, 1 College Street, Bruce, ACT, and it can be contacted by email for enquiries.
