## Description

Iwakishi Sekitan Kasekikan, known as "Horuru," is a premier fossil and coal museum located in Iwaki City, Japan, dedicated to showcasing the region's rich geological history. The museum features remarkable exhibits, including the famed Futabasaurus suzukii, a dinosaur fossil discovered by high school students in 1968, which is significant to Japan's paleontological research.

Visitors can explore dynamic indoor displays enhanced with sound and lighting that bring ancient creatures to life. The museum offers educational exhibits on local geology and fossils, alongside a mock coal mine that replicates historical coal extraction methods.

In addition to its indoor offerings, Horuru boasts outdoor displays, including a garden that represents the geological diversity of Iwaki and historical artifacts from the post-war coal mining era. With a community-friendly atmosphere, it provides numerous experiences like workshops, guided tours, and film screenings related to coal mining history. The museum is not only an educational experience but also a celebration of Iwaki's heritage, making it a must-visit destination for families and scholars alike.
