## Description

Sallan Erä- ja Kalamiehet ry (SEKM) is a hunting and fishing association based in Salla, in the Itä-Lappi region of Finnish Lapland. Active since 1958, the association has approximately 450 members and supports local outdoor recreation, hunting and fisheries management. It leases about 16,000 hectares of hunting grounds, mainly around Salla’s church village and within the Märkäjärvi cadastral village. In addition, eligible local members can hunt on extensive state lands in the municipality. For fishing and the care of fishing waters, the association leases Päiviöjärvi, a lake of about 30 hectares near the village of Kallunki.

The association also owns Pyhäranta, a property with buildings on the shore of Lake Pyhäjärvi.
