## Description

Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe – Begegnung Jena e.V. is an independent, non-confessional and non-partisan organization in Jena, Germany, supporting people affected by addiction and those close to them. Its approach centers on mutual support, bringing people with shared experiences together and helping individuals pursue social and vocational reintegration. The organization offers counseling for people experiencing dependence, relatives, and those at risk of developing an addiction. Its services also include a substance-free meeting place with leisure and sports activities, rooms for self-help groups, and a day center where participants can work within a structured routine. A contact café in Lobeda-West provides an accessible starting point for engaging with its support. Through work projects, including a second-hand furniture market, the association offers work-therapy activities for people with addiction who face barriers to employment. Additional services include furniture transport, used bicycle sales and repairs, and painting work. Its wider aims are to prevent addiction, promote lasting prevention and healthy living, and support constructive responses to relapse.
