## Description

Selskab for Protreptik is a Danish association dedicated to promoting protreptics as a living, practical form of philosophy. Rooted in a 2,500-year-old tradition of Greek philosophical dialogue, protreptics invites people to examine their fundamental attitudes, values and existence, and to reflect on what it means to be human. The association brings together people interested in exploring and developing this practice in response to contemporary existential needs.

Through events, workshops and lectures, the society shares protreptic methods and creates opportunities for thoughtful conversation and personal insight. Its activities also include research, professional development, practical tools and engagement with related philosophical fields. The association sets out five commitments concerning ethics, events and laboratories, research and quality, practice, and philosophical connections, guiding how protreptics is understood, practiced and shared.

People can join the society, attend events, subscribe to its newsletter and explore protreptic publications. Its book, At være forud for sig selv – Stemmer fra Selskab for Protreptik, is available through Saxo.
