## Description

The Southeastern Center of Excellence in Vector-Borne Diseases (SECVBD) is a collaborative initiative funded by the CDC, focusing on the prevention and control of vector-borne illnesses in the Southeastern United States and the Caribbean. Comprised of a multidisciplinary team, SECVBD works alongside key public health stakeholders, including prominent universities such as the University of South Carolina and the University of Florida, to develop innovative research programs and strategies to combat emerging diseases.

SECVBD offers a diverse range of services, including training opportunities and educational resources aimed at both public health professionals and students. Their programs encompass tick surveillance, control training, and summer internships, as well as online courses that address the pressing challenges posed by tick-borne diseases. The center facilitates annual meetings and workshops to disseminate knowledge, foster communication, and enhance cooperative efforts in vector control. By maintaining a focus on cutting-edge research and community engagement, SECVBD is at the forefront of tackling the threats of vector-borne diseases in the region.
