## Description

Societas Gladiatoria Zlina is a historical fencing and reenactment association based in Zlín, Czech Republic. For nearly 20 years, its members have brought historical combat and military life to events at home and abroad. The group recreates German-school fencing and portrays mercenaries from the second half of the 15th century and German landsknechts from the first half of the 16th century.

Its reenactment activities include demonstrations of period tactics with long weapons and authentic military camp settings that introduce visitors to the everyday challenges of mercenary life. For castles, chateaux, and town festivals, the association also stages choreographed performances featuring historical wrestling and techniques with daggers, messers, staffs, and longswords, while respecting authentic fighting methods.

The group practices Historical European Martial Arts, with a focus on longsword and sabre, and takes part in tournaments and sparring events in the Czech Republic and abroad. Training is open to newcomers interested in reenactment, performance, sport, or historical martial arts. Sessions combine fencing with fitness, movement, basic acrobatics, and wrestling.
