Seward Chamber is a small and exciting community located in Seward, Alaska. With a year-round population of approximately 2,600 residents, the city comes alive during the summer as seasonal workers arrive to support the tourism and commercial fishing industries. Seward is situated just outside Kenai Fjords National Park, offering breathtaking natural beauty and wildlife. Exit Glacier, which is accessible by road, is the only area of the park that can be reached by car. For those without a vehicle, shuttle and taxi services are available between Exit Glacier and Seward from May through September. Boat tours are the most accessible way to experience the stunning fjords, tidewater glaciers, and marine wildlife in the area. Getting to Seward is convenient, as it is directly connected to the Lower 48 via the Alaska Highway. The closest commercial airport is Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, and visitors can choose to rent a car, RV, or take a shuttle bus for a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Seward. Additionally, the Alaska Railroad offers a relaxing way to enjoy the sights from mid-May to mid-September. Seward is also a popular cruise ship port. Wildlife enthusiasts will have plenty of opportunities to spot various marine animals, such as sea otters, sea lions, humpback whales, and occasionally orcas, depending on the season. Moose and black bear sightings are more likely around Exit Glacier. While Seward's coastal location and frequent clouds make it less reliable for viewing the Aurora Borealis, there is still a chance to witness this natural phenomenon from late September to early October through April, when the skies are dark enough. From outdoor adventures to stunning scenery and wildlife, Seward Chamber offers a unique and unforgettable experience in the heart of Alaska.
