## Description

Foundation: The International Review of Science Fiction is a distinguished literary magazine established in 1972, recognized for its critical peer-reviewed articles and reviews in the realm of science fiction. Operated by the Science Fiction Foundation (SFF), a registered charity based in the UK, the journal serves as an essential platform for scholarly exploration of science fiction literature and its wider cultural implications.

Foundation publishes diverse content, including calls for articles and essays, highlighting significant contributions to the genre. It regularly features competitions like the Peter Nicholls Essay Prize, encouraging postgraduate and early career researchers to engage with science fiction topics. The magazine also hosts events, including panels and guest speaker discussions, fostering a vibrant community of writers and scholars.

With plans for special issues and conferences, such as "Women in the Black Fantastic," Foundation aims to explore underrepresented voices and historical contexts within science fiction. Through its commitment to education, research, and community engagement, Foundation continues to celebrate and expand the understanding of science fiction as a scholarly field.
