Sfi, also known as STARFLEET, is the world's oldest Star Trek Fan Association. For over four decades, STARFLEET has provided Star Trek fans with a platform to connect, make friends, and give back to their communities. Whether on a local or international level, STARFLEET offers its members a plethora of resources and opportunities that set it apart from other fan clubs.

Members can engage in enjoyable activities, access exclusive membership materials, and stay updated with the regularly-published newsletter. Moreover, members can immerse themselves in various departments, such as STARFLEET Academy, the STARFLEET Marine Corps, and the Department of Technical Services. STARFLEET even awards academic scholarships to deserving members each year.

With hundreds of local chapters across the globe, STARFLEET provides spaces for like-minded fans to come together in-person or correspond through various means. These chapters are organized into regions, where crews from multiple chapters unite for conferences, parties, charity events, and more. Guided by a solid chain of command, STARFLEET ensures fair and appropriate resolution to any concerns or problems faced by its members.

Members can even earn ranks, from introductory levels like Cadet and Ensign to higher positions like Lieutenant, Commander, or even Captain, Commodore, or Admiral, based on their active participation. Costuming is encouraged in STARFLEET, but not mandatory, offering members the chance to dress up as their favorite Star Trek race or simply have fun with fellow STARFLEET friends and members. Joining a chapter is not mandatory, and individuals can choose to be a part of STARFLEET without joining a chapter or vice versa.
