## Description

San Francisco Waves was a youth fastpitch softball organization serving players in the San Francisco area. Formed in Fall 2012, it gained nonprofit status in Summer 2016 and offered local athletes the opportunity to play competitive softball while practicing within the city. The organization fielded teams, including an 18-and-under team, and shared team rosters, photos, and information for prospective players and coaches.

Beyond teaching softball fundamentals, the Waves emphasized hard work, persistence, self-confidence, and teamwork. Its motto, “Right Here, Right Now,” encouraged players to focus on the current task rather than dwell on a previous mistake. Coaches worked with athletes to recover from errors and stay engaged in the game, lessons the organization believed could benefit players both on the field and in life. The site also welcomed coaches interested in forming a team and joining the organization.

The San Francisco Waves has now officially closed. Its website expresses gratitude to supporters and reflects on the coaches and players who were part of the program over the years.
