## Description

The South Grand River Watershed Alliance (SGRWA) is a community-based organization formed in 2005 by residents concerned about the health of the South Grand River watershed. Its mission is to protect water and watershed resources through education for private citizens, landowners, and public agencies. With resources provided by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and Missouri Department of Conservation, the Alliance shares information about how human activities can contribute to pollution and watershed deterioration.

SGRWA offers educational materials on watershed issues, common problems, practical solutions, and water quality, along with links to government agencies and conservation resources. Its website also features news, events, a newsletter, and guidance for residents who want to support a healthier watershed. Suggested actions include picking up litter, planting Missouri native species, removing invasive plants, and reducing single-use plastics. The Alliance also promotes community activities, including electronics recycling events that accept items such as computers, phones, and televisions at no charge.
