## Description

ON THE ROAD 1988 is a concert-film release celebrating Shogo Hamada’s landmark 1988–89 FATHER’S SON tour, a major chapter in the Japanese rock artist’s career. Spanning 68 cities and 100 performances, the tour crossed the transition from the Showa to the Heisei era and showcased songs that continue to resonate across generations, including “MONEY,” “Another Saturday,” “J.BOY,” “Last Show,” and “ON THE ROAD.” The film brings the live experience back to cinema through original footage from venues including Yoyogi National Gymnasium, MZA Ariake, and Nagoya Rainbow Hall. The footage has been digitally remastered in 4K and presented with a 5.1-channel surround mix. It captures the energy of Hamada and his audiences, as well as performances from a benefit concert held at MZA Ariake. Produced by Road & Sky and distributed by Live Viewing Japan, the film is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on January 8, 2027, offering fans a newly restored view of a defining tour.
