## Description

Shaker Museum is a cultural institution dedicated to sharing the history, creativity, and material culture of the Shakers. Its collection includes more than 18,000 objects, which visitors can explore through the museum’s online collection and exhibitions. The museum connects historical work and ideas with contemporary culture, presenting exhibitions and programs that invite audiences to reconsider the relationship between the past and present.

Shaker Museum offers access to its collections, a research library, pop-up exhibitions, events, and tours, including members-only visits to collections storage. Its Mount Lebanon Historic Site and administrative campus provide additional ways to engage with Shaker history and the museum’s work. The museum also shares updates, behind-the-scenes insights, and information about exhibitions and events through its newsletter.

A new museum building designed by Selldorf Architects is planned for downtown Chatham, New York, with an opening scheduled for 2028. Supporters can contribute through donations, membership, corporate partnerships, and estate planning. Through its collections, exhibitions, and public programs, Shaker Museum brings Shaker heritage into conversation with audiences today.
