## Description

Shanghai National Party, also known as 上海民族党, is a grassroots, non-profit organization founded on July 18, 2018, in New York, USA, by activist He Anquan. This political party advocates for the independence of Shanghai and promotes the idea of local governance by its residents, opposing the centralized authority of mainland China. The party emphasizes a comprehensive Westernization of Shanghai society, drawing on the philosophies of notable dissidents like Liu Xiaobo and Liu Zhongjing.

The Shanghai National Party relies heavily on small donations from the public to fund its activities, providing various channels for contributions, including checks, PayPal, bank deposits, and even cryptocurrencies. They strive to raise awareness and support for the Shanghai independence movement, a cause that has captured international attention through strategic advertisements in prominent Chinese newspapers. With a growing membership and active engagement in political dialogue, the Shanghai National Party seeks to reshape the future of Shanghai within a global context.
