## Description

Shaolin Nordic is a school in Finland dedicated to traditional Chinese practices and martial arts. It teaches skills originating in China’s Shaolin temples, which the school says have been passed from masters to students through an unbroken lineage for 1,500 years. Its curriculum includes Chi Kung, also known as Qigong, for cultivating health, vitality and performance; Shaolin Kungfu and Taijiquan, combining traditional martial arts with a programme for personal development; and Zen, a method for training the mind and spirit.

The school offers introductory and continuing courses, with course information and registration available through its website. Shaolin Nordic is part of the international Shaolin Wahnam Institute, which was founded in 1982 by Shaolin master Wong Kiew Kit. The institute’s stated mission is to preserve and pass on these traditional skills to future generations. In Finland, Shaolin Nordic’s activities are concentrated in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The website also features articles, a gallery, contact details and a newsletter for those interested in the school and its teachings.
