## Description

Shared Health is Manitoba’s provincial health authority, created to strengthen coordination and planning of patient-centred care across the province. With more than 18,000 employees, it provides provincial health services and operational support, working closely with CancerCare Manitoba and the five regional health authorities. As a designated bilingual health authority, Shared Health serves communities across urban, rural and northern Manitoba, with a goal of supporting a reliable standard of care for all residents.

Its services span direct patient care and system-wide support. Offerings include diagnostic services, emergency response, surgery, breast health, stroke care, primary care, mental health and addictions, diabetes care, language access and Indigenous and Francophone health services. Specialized programs include the Manitoba Ostomy Program, Manitoba Spine Clinic, Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinic, Tissue Bank Manitoba and Manitoba Transplant. Shared Health also supports digital health services, supply chain management, ethics, patient safety, quality and accreditation, and patient and family engagement. The organization emphasizes accessibility, privacy, transparency and collaboration, including a commitment to improving health experiences and outcomes for Indigenous people through relationships grounded in truth and reconciliation.
