## Description

Sharmanka Kinetic Theatre is a Glasgow attraction presenting distinctive kinetic theatre shows featuring sculptural, moving artworks. Founded in St Petersburg, Russia, by sculptor-mechanic Eduard Bersudsky and theatre director Tatyana Jakovskaya, the company first opened in 1989 and moved to Scotland in the mid-1990s. For more than three decades, its performances have captivated audiences through intricate mechanical figures, movement and cross-cultural storytelling, combining visual detail with a multisensory theatrical experience for people of different ages. Sharmanka has toured and exhibited nationally and internationally, fascinating audiences in many countries. Visitors can find current show details, schedules and ticket bookings through its What’s On listings. The organisation also presents projects, commissions, collections and collaborations. Bersudsky is the leading artist and co-creator of the Millennium Clock Tower at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh, and received a Creative Scotland award in 2005. Sharmanka offers an unusual cultural experience for Glasgow residents and visitors alike.
