## Description

Shorinjiryu Shindo Budo Kwaï is a Canadian karate organization with more than 45 years of tradition, welcoming students of all ages in a respectful, safe, and family-oriented environment. Its schools aim to help students build discipline, confidence, and personal development through martial arts. The Shorinjiryu Shindo style was founded by Hanshi Michel Laurin as a branch of Shorinjiryu Kenkokan, established by Masayoshi Kori Hisataka. It combines traditional Japanese karate with elements of self-defence, boxing, jiu-jitsu, judo, Krav Maga, and other martial arts.

Budo Kwaï operates dojos in Saint-Jérôme, Sainte-Adèle, Morin-Heights, Mont-Tremblant, Rosemère, and Piedmont. The Canadian schools are led by Kyoshi Gilles Labelle, an eighth-dan karate practitioner with more than 40 years of experience. Students can access instruction and resources covering basic techniques, kata, weapons, and kumite, alongside educational documents and videos. The organization also hosts competitions, seminars, and other events, and offers a shop featuring products branded with its dojos’ identity.
