## Description

Shine (East Norfolk) is a registered charity supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, and their families, across Great Yarmouth and East Norfolk. Founded by two parents in 1989, the organisation has more than 35 years of experience providing specialist care, play and emotional support. Its purpose-built, inclusive setting is designed to help every child feel safe, valued and able to thrive.

Shine’s services include a term-time nursery for children aged two to four, offering inclusive childcare, early learning and meaningful play. For children and young people aged five to 17, its Short Breaks programme includes a Saturday Playscheme and holiday sessions; a Friday Youth Club serves ages eight to 17. These activities encourage friendships, confidence, life skills and independence, while giving parents and carers respite.

The Thrive Approach informs Shine’s daily routines and individual and group support, helping children develop emotional resilience, self-regulation and trusting relationships.
